Frinton/Walton
|
Took the kids up to Frinton today, the kids had a good time. Had a walk down to Walton where I haven't been for years and what a shock! So sad to see a town lacking so much investment. Something has to be done to try and create some wealth in these areas but the trigger surely has to be some injection of government money. The divide in this country is getting larger and larger not only between north and south but well heeled inner urban areas and suburbs/coastal areas......

Also stayed at the Martello Caravan site every summer from approx age 2-12 Recall they use to high out bikes where 4 people could sit on them with 2 peddling up front also the circus tent. Yes long cold walk to them showers & toilets -character building no doubt.
Radio 4 done a programe on the tower on the Naze a while back and interview the people who brought it they turned it into a cafe and museum its well worth a visit just for the old photos.

Went to Walton every summer for our holiday. Fetch your own water, gaslights, 5 minute walk for a piss, fucking loved it! Is Martello still there?

Went to Frinton a couple of months ago, ended up on the grounds of Ted & Mrs Ted by accident. Their butler took me up the drive to meet them and i was told i was lucky i hadn't received a round of buckshot. Anyway a cup of rosy later and a good chat about music, West Ham and life i was sent on my way, not before Ted had given me a present of a WHU programme from when i was born. Some honkys aren't too bad.
